OpenHands
OpenHands is an open-source platform for running AI coding agents that can read and modify a codebase, execute shell commands, and browse the web inside a sandboxed workspace, either locally or through a hosted control center.
Baseline topologies
| Topology | Minimum nodes | Roles |
|---|---|---|
| single-node | 1 | openhands-server |
| single-node-high-concurrency | 1 | openhands-server, sandbox-runtime |
What drives the cost
- Concurrent agent sessions
- Expected peak number of simultaneously active AI coding agent sessions. Each session runs an isolated sandbox environment and is the dominant resource driver.
- Sandbox type
- Isolation mechanism used for agent execution sandboxes. Docker-based sandboxes require the Docker daemon and adequate per-container resource headroom; Kubernetes sandboxes require a running cluster.
Where it runs
