OpenSearch Cluster
OpenSearch is an open-source search and analytics engine, forked from Elasticsearch, that indexes JSON documents for full-text search, log analytics, and vector search across a distributed cluster of nodes.
Baseline topologies
| Topology | Minimum nodes | Roles |
|---|---|---|
| data-plus-manager | 4 | cluster-manager, data |
| combined-nodes | 3 | combined |
What drives the cost
- Data nodes
- Nodes that hold shards and handle indexing and search requests.
- Cluster manager nodes
- Control-plane nodes for cluster state, elections, and shard allocation. Use an odd count for quorum.
- Primary indexed data (GB)
- Estimated size of primary shards before replicas and growth headroom.
