Redis Cluster
Redis is an in-memory data structure server that exposes strings, hashes, lists, sets, and streams as fast key-value operations, most commonly deployed as a cache, session store, or message broker. It supports optional on-disk persistence and a sharded clustering mode for horizontal scale-out and replica-based failover.
Baseline topologies
| Topology | Minimum nodes | Roles |
|---|---|---|
| shard-primaries-and-replicas | 1 | shard-primary, shard-replica |
| three-shard-ha-baseline | 6 | shard-primary, shard-replica |
What drives the cost
- Primary shards
- Number of primary shard groups in the cluster.
- Replicas per shard
- Number of replica nodes assigned to each primary shard. Use at least 1 for conservative HA.
- Memory working set (GB)
- Estimated hot data that should fit into memory.
Where it runs
bare_metal, dedicated, cloud_vm
